    The Mission of the 7 Generations Intertribal Council is the Preservation, Education and Restoration of indigenous life in Solano County, California. Our Purpose is to elevate the viability and visibility of indigenous peoples as a contemporary and valued asset of this modern world and society.

  • Greater Vallejo Park, Recreation, and Open Space Foundation

    The Greater Vallejo Park, Recreation and Open Space Foundation initiates, sponsors, promotes, and carrys out plans, programs and activities to further the park and recreation objectives of GVRD. With these needed funds, they will be used for all FREE winter community events at Children’s Wonderful Park.

  • The Couch Sarna League

    The specific purpose of The Coach Sarna League is to allow people between the ages of 4 and up to compete in low‐cost flag football, potentially other low‐cost sports and physical activities. We also create opportunities for family bonding and competition. In addition to athletics, we seek to academically empower our athletes who need extra support in the classroom by providing tutoring opportunities to our athletes who are struggling in the classroom. Such tutoring will focus on STEM and language arts.

  • Vallejo Police Activity League

    Since 1971 the Vallejo Police Activities League has been serving Vallejo youth. Our purpose is to provide quality, healthy activities for the youth of Vallejo while fostering a sense of togetherness between the Vallejo Police Officers and the young people of Vallejo, all run by volunteers. We have been serving Vallejo for many years now and plan to continue this service for many years to come.

    Vallejo Community Access Television (VCAT) is a community media service organization that provides access to facilities, equipment and training to enable any member of the community to produce producing programming content.

  • VEBA

    VEBA is dedicated to the promise of a college education for students in Vallejo with the hope in creating a more vibrant community. This initiative transforms the lives of students and the city’s economic future by placing higher education and training within reach for all of Vallejo’s students. Since its inception, our scholarship program has placed emphasis on Black, Indigenous and People of Color and at-risk-youth.

2021 Beneficiaries

  • FAITH FOOD FRIDAYS

    Faith Food Fridays began in 2011, where we served an average of 35 families a week each Friday. Today, we are open 3 days (Sundays drive through, Tuesdays and Fridays) and serve over 400+ families each week. Our food boxes are filled with fresh and shelf-stable foods and other grocery items, and We also provide free services such as flu shots, showers, financial literacy and more, as donations allow.

  • LOVE IS...

    Established in 2017, the Love Is... team was a trio of women who wanted nothing more than to help out 30 senior citizens to not feel so lonely during the holidays. 30 turned into 50 and 50 into 100. By the end of their first holiday season the Love Is... team had 168 senior citizens on the list and with 98 volunteers they all received a gift. When the season ended the trio had already amassed a small following who were earnest for the next year and they had to admit, so were they.

  • NATURE OF SOUND

    Nature of sound is a nonprofit organization operating in Solano County/Northern California. We provide creative community solutions through art, music, film, and games to solve critical issues we identify as our charitable causes.

  • VALLEJO SENIOR CITIZENS COUNCIL (dba Florence Douglas Center)

    In 2019, the Florence Douglas Center (FDC) is in its 43rd year of serving the community. Founded in 1977, the FDC is a 14,000 sq. ft. city owned facility located in the central core area of Vallejo providing social, educational, recreational, health, nutritional and consumer advice, counseling, and activities. The FDC is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, multi-purpose, all-inclusive, service center that directly provides over 50 regular programs to seniors. Self supporting through fundraising, grants, donations and social programs, we operate with professional staff, and the assistance of a large pool of volunteers. The Vallejo Senior Citizens’ Council Inc., established in 1974, is responsible for oversight and management of the FDC.

  • VASA EDUCATIONAL SERVICES (dba Vallejo Project)

    VASA/Oceania Student Success Program supports Pacific Island and all CCSF students in pursuit of academic success through comprehensive, culturally specific, multilingual education programs and services that promote successful learning and student achievement in a multicultural environment. The program also offers link courses in English, Math, College Success, and Critical Pacific Island Studies.

  • WATCH ME GROW

    Watch Me Grow, Inc. embraces an innovative and culturally sensitive approach to meet the gaps in resources/services and effectively engage low-income parents/guardians in early childhood education and advocacy. Watch Me Grow, Inc, supports parents who suffer from trauma and misinformation, and connect them with the proper resources and services offered by various public agencies and private organizations within Solano County.

    The Florence Douglas Center has many important roles in our senior community: To foster and promote programs and services for the charitable, educational, social, and recreational needs of persons 50 years of age and over; To be the community focal point for senior services and programs, to provide recreational, educational and social activities, and a nutrition program; To provide an extensive information and referral service, coordinating services with other agencies serving Solano County.​

    Loma Vista Farms is a 5-acre outdoor classroom that provides hands-on educational activities involving plants and animals for children of all ages and abilities. We seek to increase students’ knowledge of nature and nutrition while enhancing academic learning, Eco literacy and psychosocial development​

    The mission of the Mare Island Historic Park foundation is to identify, preserve, interpret and promote the diverse history of the Vallejo Naval Shipyard.

  • MIDSI SANCHEZ FOUNDATION​

    The Midsi Sanchez Foundation is passionate about being the voice of missing and abused children all of the world, and through public speaking engagements, giving hope and purpose to others. By putting herself in service and sharing her ordeal with families of missing and exploited children themselves, it has only been a healing process for Midsi, but also the survivors. No one is alone.​

  • REBUILDING TOGETHER SOLANO COUNTY​

    As a housing nonprofit organization, Rebuilding Together Solano County assists low-income homeowners with home rehabilitation projects - focusing on providing a healthy and safe home. Our focus is low-income seniors, disabled individuals and veterans. In addition to home rehabilitation, Rebuilding Together also assists community facilities with needed repairs. During a project, local businesses, community members and concerned residents come together from all walks of life to rehabilitate homes in Solano County. This is accomplished with volunteer skilled and unskilled labor, donated materials/services and financial support from within Solano County.​

  • SCI ACTIVE NETWORK​

    SCI Active Network is a positive network that connects spinal cord injury (SCI) survivors and their families through peer mentoring; and empowers an active lifestyle towards mobility, independence, and a higher quality of life.​

    SCI offers a number of programs, including Peer Connections, Rolling Strong group, and Share-A-Chair. Peer Connections is our mentoring in Bay Area Rehabilitation Centers and hosting monthly support meetings in Berkeley and San Francisco. Rolling Strong group activities are ALL family-inclusive and include our Roll On Bowl On events in Bay Area cities throughout the year. Share-A-Chair program consists of us accepting donated lightweight manual wheelchairs. We inspect, refurbish, deliver, and fit the SCI survivors into the wheelchair to increase their mobility and independence.​

  • SOLANO COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION​

    The mission of the Solano County Fair Association is to ensure a positive experience for the public by providing a year-round multi-purpose venue that showcases and celebrates the wide variety of resources and activities available to our diverse community. The Solano County Fair Association have been providing educational, cultural, artistic, commercial and recreational program to the residents of Solano County for more than 70 years.​

  • SOLUTIONS FOR AT-RISK YOUTH FIREFIGHTER YOUTH ACADEMY

    The Firefighter Youth Academy is a youth development and mentoring program providing life guidance and career exploration to youth who are at risk of academic, social, and/or economic failure.​

  • VALLEJO COMMUNITY ARTS FOUNDATION​

    Vallejo Community Arts Foundation facilitates and advocates Vallejo community participation in the arts, including the promotion of the rich history of the Arts in Vallejo, the development of educational programs and support for Vallejo arts organizations, and the celebration of our unique cultural diversity through the expressions of art.​

  • VALLEJO SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK​

    Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park is an annual play festival where residence of all ages and economic backgrounds are invited to come together for free professional outdoor theatre in Vallejo. Our aim is to provide an inspiring and educational live theatre experience for our audience through intensive preparation and high quality performances.​

    The Genesis House, Inc is a non-profit organization founded in May 1972. The initial formation of the organization was based on the idea of providing a re-entry program for other residential treatment program graduates. By 1974 it became apparent that treatment services were needed, and the program obtained state certification to provide long term treatment. This continues to be the program’s primary purpose today. We provide ling-term residential treatment to men and women who require complete lifestyle and environment change. Fees are based on client’s ability to pay.

    Rotary is where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change. Rotary’s current focal project is Welcome to Vallejo signs that will be at all five major entrances into our fine city. The signs will represent the new branding project just completed by Visit Vallejo/City of Vallejo and highlight the 26 Associations and Service Clubs that are in Vallejo.

  • MCCUNE ART & BOOK COLLECTION

    The McCune Art & Books Collection Foundation provides public service in the Arts of the Book through its support of Vallejo’s McCune Rare Book Collection. We actively involve a diverse public in all our innovative exhibits and educational programs. We also seek to enrich the culture of our community by augmenting the McCune Collection with relevant acquisitions. The Vallejo Waterfront Weekend grant award is essential for The McCune to achieve an important goal: the professional development of a Long-Range Preservation Plan for the Collection. This plan will include a condition survey, prioritized actions, and timetables. Environmental concerns, archival storage, conservation, remediation, and training of McCune staff will be addressed. The plan will also serve as a tool for future fund-raising efforts. Proper preservation of the McCune Collection will ensure that the rare books and other artifacts remain intact and accessible to all citizens of Vallejo as well as Bay area visitors.

  • VALLEJ SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK

    Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park is an annual festival, where residents of all ages and economic backgrounds are invited come together for free professional outdoor theater in Vallejo, Martinez and Oakland. Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park produces one free live Shakespearean production each summer presented at Hanns Park. We believe the arts are an important part of the fabric of a community and we want to do our part to ensure a thriving arts environment and help raise the value of the arts as a public good. We present a “bare-bones” production, concentrating on the actor’s performances and honest storytelling, with minimal set and modern dress.

  • CALIFORNIA MARITIME ACADEMY

    Our goal is to have affordable community programs open for anyone in the area. Much of this, aimed toward the purposes of getting water safety training or obtaining the knowledge required for the California Boater Card. Waterways are a big part of life in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the need for boat and waterway safety education is high. Our long term goal is to reduce boat and waterway fatalities by providing knowledge and resources to foster safe and aware boaters.

  • CAPITOL STAIRS MOSAIC PROJECT

    FROM BLIGHT TO BEAUTY ONE STEP AT A TIME

    To create a place-making public work of art that will revitalize the Vallejo Capitol Stairs, built in 1914, by making them a safe, beautiful and appealing asset to the Heritage District and Sonoma Boulevard neighborhood corridor.

  • ROBBY POBLETE FOUNDTATION

    The Robby Poblete Foundation was created in honor of Robby Poblete, who was killed by gun violence in Vallejo at the age of 23. The foundation’s mission is to get unwanted guns out of circulation through an annual gun buyback, and to transform them into instruments of hope and opportunity through art and vocational skills programs.
