Whaleboat Races
The Straits Of Mare Island Rowing Club hosts the Whaleboat Regatta, the signature event of the Vallejo Waterfront Weekend. This event has been held since the late 1960’s, and has attracted thousands to the waterfront to see who can be crowned the best in their division.
Car Show
The Chelu Car Club returns to the waterfront to hold one of area’s largest car shows. Hundreds of cars, one cooler than the next, it is sure to have every car enthusiast’s favorite. The club’s nonprofit, TEAM HOPE raises money to make sure that those that need it the most can enjoy the holiday season by providing gifts and holiday cheer.
Disc Golf Tournament
The Benejo and Napa Disc Golf Clubs bring you the 3rd annual Hydraulic Hyzer Disc Golf Tournament! Disc golfers come to enjoy this hybrid Urban/Forest, through the historic shipyard waterfront and tree lined Aden Park, with views of the historic officers mansions and St. Peters Chapel (featuring 200 year old Tiffany stained glass windows)!
Ducky Derby
This year the Greater Vallejo Recreation District is hosting the Ducky Derby! Obtainium Works is unveiling a new interactive display to give even the oldest “kids” the chance to pick a duck and win a prize when they buy a ticket to win the grand prizes at the big drawing held at the end of the festival!
Martial Arts Tournament
The Filipino Martial Arts Tournament brings large crowds to the waterfront to watch real-life warriors compete in this very exciting sport. Watch participants of all ages and backgrounds, men and women alike, participate in a less lethal version of a centuries-old sport using padded sticks and protective gear.
Flag Football
The Coach Sarna League will be on hand to hold a skills event for their entire league. Participants of their very successful Flag Football program will come to the Waterfront to pick up their uniforms, go through the special skills course to build agility and give them the confidence to take the field.
Bus Tours
The Mare Island Historic Foundation hosts the Bus Tours, which gives riders a behind the scenes excursion into rarely seen areas of the historic Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Hear from local historians about the significant happenings at the shipyard, and even some local gossip and lore along the way.
Ferry Tours
The Vallejo Ferry Tour, hosted by WETA, gives riders a fact-filled ride up the Straits to the Carquinez Bridge and back. Stay cool, sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic tour while enjoying some special refreshments.
Glo Run
A very special 5K experience for the whole family! Participants start at dusk from the WETA facility on Mare Island, and enjoy a walk/run along the Waterfront, across the Mare Island Causeway Bridge (beautiful sunset views of the three bridges that span to the Napa River), then run past the Harbor and Yacht Club to the Kondylis Waterfront Green, where you will be welcomed at the entertainment stage for the start of the awards party!
Splash Chair
The Vallejo Aquatic Club hosts one of the most exciting events of the weekend. Various Local Luminaries and members of the public will take a turn in the Splash Chair to get wet for a cause. Watch or participate as the victims in the chair squirm while they wait for you to hit the target!
Kids Zone
GVRD and Loma Vista Farms bring you the Kid Zone, where tykes can climb a pumpkin patch, pet an animal and enjoy the vast array of games and activities that will surely keep the young’uns entertained. Activities keep public safety as a priority and have staff for monitoring and assistance.
Beer & Wine Garden
Festival goers can visit the Beer and Wine Garden, hosted by the Vallejo Firefighters Local #1186 and Soroptimists of Vallejo. Enjoy beverages in the shaded tent with a great view of the entertainment stage. Proceeds Benefit both organizations as well as the organizations chosen to receive grants raised by the Vallejo Waterfront Weekend.
